Since launching in January 2023, the BioCapital Network has grown to a community of over 325 members - every single individual is investing in UK-based life science companies. Members include representatives of over 190 unique funds and numerous Angel investors with the community’s combined assets under management totalling over £50 billion.
All members of the BioCapital Network are invited to join our online community platform, built on Mighty.
Our platform is a safe space where we actively discuss industry news and share interesting deal flow, all in sector-specific spaces.
This platform offers a better way for the international life science investment ecosystem to connect and allows a more open sharing of opportunities with the overall aim of getting more UK-based companies funded.
Once a quarter, we host an informal social meet-up exclusively for members of the BioCapital Network. No professional services. No pitching companies. No students. Just investors.
These socials have no formal agenda and provide a relaxed and open forum for investors from across all areas of life sciences to develop meaningful relationships, share high-quality deal flow, open co-investment opportunities and enable discussions on the latest industry trends and challenges.
Once a month, BioCapital Network members are invited to join intimate meet-ups centred around specific themes within life sciences.
We invite selected members of our BioEntrepreneur Club to these, aiming for a 1:1 investor-to-founder ratio with around 10 - 20 attendees, enabling a more personal way for founders and investors to connect. These sessions enable exposure to new investment opportunities alongside discussions around sector trends and challenges.
Twice a year, we host Office Hours for members of the BioCapital Network to meet one-to-one with some of the incredible entrepreneurs who are part of our BioEntrepreneur Club.
Office Hours are organised in sector-specific sessions so you can pick and choose which you join based on your investment areas and interests within life sciences.
We aim to have at least 50% of participating companies to be women-led and at least 50% to be based outside of the Golden Triangle.
Eligibility is simple - our only requirement is that you are an active life science investor. How we define this is outlined below.
You must either be an individual Angel or a representative of an Angel Syndicate, Family Office, Venture Capital, Corporate Venture Capital or Private Equity.
The BioCapital Network is title-agnostic. So whether you are a Junior Analyst or a Managing Partner, you are most welcome to join. However, we do ask that members have a full-time investment role, rather than Student Partners, Fellow or Consultancy positions.
You must be actively investing in at least one of AgriTech/ClimateTech, Digital Health, Life Science Tools and Tech, Medical Devices, TechBio or Therapeutics.
You must be actively investing in at least one stage of growth between Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, Series B, Series C or beyond.
You don't need to be based in the UK to join the BioCapital Network. In fact, many members are based outside of the UK but have joined the community for better access to UK-based deal flow. All we ask is that you are actively investing in the UK life science ecosystem, no matter where you are based yourself.
* Please note, you will only be accepted to the BioCapital Network if you have access to active funds for investment in life science companies. After review by our team, accepted members will be invited to join our community platform.

"The BioCapital Network have done a tremendous job of becoming the meeting place for life science VCs in the UK. The events they organise are a great opportunity for VCs to catch up on deals, challenge and cross-pollinate theses, as well as useful to expand your professional network. The community is successfully challenging the existing paradigm that VC is an elitist, closed-off profession, hopefully turning it more equitable (no pun intended) and diverse"
Lee Lindley
"It’s been game changing joining the BioCapital Investor Network. The life sciences venture ecosystem is constantly evolving and investor appetite changes accordingly. Having an investor-only network where we can share deal flow, discuss opportunities, and debate market trends has been hugely value additive to me and in my opinion benefits the entire UK life sciences ecosystem as a whole."
Elisabetta Sakiotis
"As a fund with a domain-focus, it is incredibly handy to have a community where I can connect with investors that share the same focus and discuss relevant trends for my industry. The BioCapital network creates a close-knit environment to share deal flow and opinions on the market."
Ollie Hardick
"The BioCapital Network is a great community for Life Science investors at all career stages. They host a diverse range of events that provide a relaxed and informal setting for networking with investors and peers, while mixer events with founders spotlight early-stage innovations that are great for deal flow. The online platform is a valuable resource for sharing news and tapping into the community's wealth of experience. I look forward to engaging more with this supportive network"
